Eternal discussion between a poker player who is convinced that he has skill and a person convinced that poker is gambling. This subject it is very tasty by itself, but the dispute between a him and a her it is especially tasty.
So, let’s thank to Brad E for this video and we can not conclude without mentioning the opinion of his youtube follower, john smith:
Honestly, it’s dellusional to keep telling yourself “poker is a game of skill.” Yes, skill is involved – but LUCK plays a HUGE factor. I know players like to talk about ‘variance’ – but that’s just another way to justify the natural ebb and flow of bad luck vs. good luck. The poker industry likes to perpetuate the myth that ‘gambling is a skill.” If players suddenly realized that it’s actually ‘a game of chance with some skill involved’ the gambling industry would lose profits. The gambling degenerates who are trying desperately to ‘master the game’ would lose interest and focus their energy elsewhere. I’m not a donkey, I actually made a lot of money last night at poker – but I’m not going to kid myself. I played strong AND I got LUCKY. I was dealt some great cards and hit some key flops when I needed to hit them. If I’d played strong and had gotten crap cards I would have lost. It’s a game of chance folks. Stop buying into the bullsh*t that poker is just a game of skill. This guy should be playing less poker and focusing instead on banging that smoking hot chick in the office.
