Grover Beach Municipal Code currently prohibits card players from making wagers in excess of $500 or of betting more than $1,000 in a single hand played in licensed card rooms. Article X, Chapter 4, Section 10410 of the Grover Beach Municipal Code presently states: No card table permittee, owner, or employee may allow any player to make a single wager exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500) or allow any player to wager more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) on any single hand played within the license premises.
On April 28, 2015, Mr. David Stearns, the owner of Central Coast Casino, submitted a request to the City to modify Section 10410 which currently sets the wagering limits for card tables.
The request is to remove the wagering limits currently in place and to allow “No Limit” wagering on card tables.
On Monday, The Grover Beach City Council unanimously approved an ordinance, removing limits on how much can be bet at card tables in the city. From now, there are no waging limits on the amount wagered in any permitted games.
