The 2016 World Series of Poker Schedule has been released and includes a number of changes of which the most important are two: the majority of bracelet (and Deepstack) events will now payout 15 percent of the field, not 10% what was WSOP standard; all $10,000 buy-in events, including the Main Event, will now feature 50,000 in starting chips and this means all now start with at least five times buy-in amount.
“By paying 50% more entrants and reaching the money earlier, we anticipate the 2016 WSOP to be the most rewarding yet”, stated Tournament Director Jack Effel. “Our schedule this year really runs the gamut for all levels of poker enthusiasts, so we hope you will pursue the events and make your plans to join us this summer at the Rio.”
888poker is the official sponsor of the 2016 WSOP, continuing the partnerships created in 2015 and Senior Vice President & Head of B2C at 888 Holdings Itai Pazner said :
“The World Series of Poker is the pinnacle of the poker calendar and during the Main Event the eyes of the poker world are on the action in Las Vegas. In 2015 we made dreams come true for Tommy Yates and renewing our partnership will help to get more 888 players from all over the world to the WSOP again this year. The sponsorship is fantastic for the 888poker brand, for 888 players, and for the poker community more generally.”
Boasting a total of 69 events, the 2016 WSOP will take place inside the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas between May 31 and July 18 and you can see all the program at www.wsop.com .
